Thornton Lodge Country Retreats - Luxury secluded lodges in North Yorkshire

Location is everything!

This luxury family run holiday park is on the edge of the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the Howardian Hills which is in the Herriot country and gives us the most beautiful scenery of North Yorkshire.
The site itself is situated overlooking our Fly Fishing Lakes - each site has their own decking with a view of the lakes and are well spaced out as it covers 12 acres for 20 lodges.  The views to the west look towards the pennines  and behind are the Howardian Hills. This must be the most tranquil and spectacular site around.

The location of Thornton Lodge Country Retreats is so central for everything and everywhere.

As we are situated on the Howardian Hills we are on the gateway for the North Yorkshire Moors, The Yorkshire Dales within less than one hour from here you can be at the coast, North Yorkshire Moors, The Yorkshire Dales, the big cities; York and Thirsk (20 minutes away) Northallerton Harrogate Ripon Leeds, all Yorkshire Race Courses etc.

We have the most beautiful abbeys in close proximity; Byland, Reivaulx, Ampleforth, Fountains and Jervaulx Abbey. National Trust properties and English Heritage and Stately Homes; Castle Howard, Nunnington, Hovingham, Newburgh Priory, Benningborough, Newby Hall, and many more.

When you are at Thornton Lodge Country Retreats it is so peaceful you would think you are in a different country surrounded by open beautiful countryside but you are not far from the main A19 (3 miles) which is the main road to York or up to Scotland and joins the A1M; so very convenient to get onto the main roads if needed.
